At last, the first part of the long awaited [by who, we ask ourselves] PostEverything.com goes alive. Yes, it's a .com, but with a difference... it's bringing together some excellent music and making it available over the web cheaper than anywhere else, but increasing the money which goes back to the labels and, more importantly, the artists who produce the music.

How do we do this, you ask. Well, if we told you.... you'd never believe us. So check it out.

SHOWstudio

A new site

After many months of planning, and several weeks of very hard work, I'm please to announce that we've finally launchd a new SHOWstudio website. A complete ground up rebuild of a large part of the contextual features of the site, and the addition of a lot of new functionality, all sitting on top of the Critter CMS that I've been using on various sites over the last few years, with HTML and CSS wizardry by Paul Bruty.

... and relax.

I've done a quick update to this site, to bring the CMS in line with the codebase used on SHOWstudio, somewhere, Digital Convenience and that I'm in the process of porting PostEverything to to give it a new skin and set of features.

The main advantages to this site is that I can more easily use features I've created for other projects, and I can take advantage of all that when playing around with new interfaces I want to try.

More little bits with Somewhere

I've just put live a quick skin I designed for Nina & Karen's project 'Sometime Later' about the world of re-enactments.

Whilst waiting for the hard drives in my backup server to sync (only 3.4 hours waiting) I decided to knock up a blog for HostEverything as a preliminary status page. I'll end up syndicating the content out to each server so there is a status updates page (containing the same content) on each server.

Sometime Later

Working with the art direction of Nina and Karen from Somewhere we created this site for one of their many projects Sometime Later a work in progress about re-enactment and re-enactors.

The style is a bit opposite to my approach towards websites, and was a bit of a difficult process, but I like the final site despite the fact that it's more CD-ROM than Web 2.0.

Hotel

A website for East London Art Gallery Hotel. Design and art direction byPaul Hetherington. I integrated my CMS behind it and did all the CSS and HTML work.

Elsewhere In Between

Mixing Narrative

Elsewhere In Between is a project developed by Julie Myers which I helped her in the latter stages of, building a primitive video sequencer in Flash that uses a database of video clips to allow the user to make their own journey through the eyes of five film-makers in five countries.

The composer was originally developed by Julie in conjunction with BT's R&D facility with the intention of making an interactive DVD. At a late stage in the project it became apparent that a DVD would not be able to do what was desired.

This interface was built over 4 days to be given out on DVD to delegates to a conference organised by FACT, and used in a kiosk installations as well. Because it was built in Flash it was relatively trivial to create lower bandwidth video clips that could be played over the internet.

the anual reworking of SHOWstudio (god damn this CMS is getting complex)

After half a year of planning, designing, coding, arguing and generally putting our all into it SHOWstudio, with my help, have just launched a new version of their website. Lots of development on the existing CMS I built, lots of ideas from elsewhere (and in between) implemented, and a lot more to come...

AudioBunny

As Chas'N'Dave Say: Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit, rabbit!

AudioBunny was soft launched about 8 weeks ago, and is gradually gaining a reputation in Japan for it's no-nonsense editorial style. The intent is to provide an alternative to the payola basis of the content in music magazines in Japan, using web publishing to open up the platform for music writers to write what they want to, and for a broader coverage of music available in Japan outside of the established monopolies.

PostEverything V2

...resist...temptation...to...use...2.0.

I've just put up a new version ofPostEverything, after 6 years. It's been a long haul, and really this should have been there many years ago, but hey ho, I've been busy elsehwere. Anyway, it's here now, and I hope a lot better than the previous site. And a lot more adaptable, which is the main thing. What's there is fulfilling the basic requirements of the site - physical and downloadable music sales - needed for relaunch, but there is much more to come.

And no, it's not turned into a social networking site.

I've been slowly working on the design and identity for Angie's Ayurveda Practice over the last few months - amongst everything else - and have just put up the start of her website.

Simplicity is order of the day, keeping everything clean and minimal, maybe too minimal at the moment, but there is more to come in the days, weeks, months and years that follow.
